I just wanted to let you all know that I am literally reading Sherlock Holmes FOR SCIENCE right now. LITERALLY.

(We are looking at the culture of science and empire in lit this week. (Man I hope I get to show off my knowledge of Victorian spiritualism in the seminar tomorrow.))

So at about 10pm last night I heard some explosions. I thought they were just fireworks, as this is the kind of area where people randomly set off fireworks sometimes, but something about the last one made me think maybe it wasn't a firework after all.
